A series of VR experiences where an ambassador takes you on a journey across the African continent, where you experience the stories of refugees who best exemplify the values of the LuQuLuQu Tribe.

Queen of Baking

Here we tell the story of Mama Gertrude (not her real name), a refugee who came to South Africa after fleeing her home country under threat of persecution and violence. As part of a Jesuit Refugee Services program, she teaches local South African women and refugees alike the skills of baking and catering at the Arrupe Woman’s Skills Training Centre.

Wordsmith of nowhere.

Meet Maya Aluel, a young student of Sudanese decent raised in the Kakuma Refugee in northern Kenya. Bright, articulate and creative, Maya defies the odds by keeping busy running a photography studio with her friends, writing and publishing a blog and developing an app that helps fellow refugees find and connect with their family and friends, all while preparing for university.
