The Challenge
We were tasked by Deloitte Intelligent Mining to create a simulation of a mining accident that could increase the awareness of the health and safety risks during routine maintenance checks. This simulation would have to be realistic, immersive, and seamless to bypass any tech-literacy issues in training centres around the country.
The Approach
We created a hyper-realistic multiplayer VR experience that gave two players different roles in a routine compressed air pipe maintenance scenario underground. One player was an artisan, trained in the process of repairing a compressed air leak, and the other was a shift boss, concerned with the efficiency of output in the mine. Not only could the platform showcase its power as a training tool, but also as a device to cultivate awareness in team-driven scenarios.
